Meet the founder

Hello. I am Lola. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon, which is fancy for “I went to a graduate school, then completed the required number of supervision and practice hours and successfully passed a knowledge test.” I am an immigrant and I offer therapy in Russian and English. I believe that human beings are infinitely resilient and sometimes even the strongest amongst us need a little support.

I began my career in the field of mental health in 2015. I held various positions from an admin assistant, to multicultural counselor, to even, a co-founder of the coop, and of course, a therapist.

I am a feminist and root my practice in anti-oppressive values. Which means that I do recognize the impact of patriarchy, colonialism, racism, and homophobia on all of us.

Mental Health Therapy

You do not need to lay on the couch with your eyes closed while telling me every single painful story that you carry within you (thanks, every Hollywood movie ever made). Unless you WANT to lay down and close your eyes. Therapy with me is more of a conversation, where I might suggest for you to notice what you have been successfully pushing aside. Yes, yes, your emotions and needs and that you haven’t had anything to eat all day. I might give you recommendations on the actions that you might take or ask you to slow down, just for the 55-ish minutes that we spend together. Sometimes, I might tell you to go grab a glass of water and a snack. You have been warned.

I also listen, not just to the words that you are saying, but their underlying meaning and to what you are NOT saying. I do not have any superpowers (I wish!) - I am just trained to pay attention to very specific things. You might also expect nerdy references, recommendations to watch movies, read books, and engage with art. Therapy can be fun and I try to have a balance of working on the pain points and noticing joyful moments.

Clinical Supervision

My Background

I offer Clinical Supervision to associate level clinicians (CSWA and LPC-a) in Oregon. My supervision experience comes from supporting peers and associates in my different professional roles. I have established an intern program in one of my previous jobs and supervised MSW interns. In another role I created informal training for new staff to cover a gap when there was no plan to expand it. I have been supervising associate level clinicians since 2024.

I have supervised CSWA’s in various roles, as the field of social work is vast - medical social workers, child welfare workers, school-based social workers, therapists, hospice social workers, peer support specialists. I might not have in-depth knowledge of your role, but I may know enough to offer support.

Supervision with me

If you have experienced feeling “othered” and uncomfortable in professional spaces, perhaps without being able to pinpoint what is off, we might be a good match for supervision.

As an immigrant, I have a firsthand experience of lack-of-belonging in professional settings, especially in the times of uncertainty and high anxiety. If you feel like you need a space where you can show up authentically without wearing a mask to fit in, we might be a match. To re-frame the second wave feminist slogan: “Personal is professional” and without having a space to show up as you are, you cannot blossom in your career.

When we first start our careers there is a lot of support. First in graduate school, advisers and professors are there to answer our questions and offer opinions. Later, our clinician supervisors are there to share their knowledge and experience. Finally, we get our license and, if you are like me, feel very confused. We are supposed to be happy, we are reaching our goals, but we feel so alone.

If this describes you, we might work well in a consulting relationship. I can guide you through starting your own practice, perhaps you have a case that you need to discuss or a difficult workplace situation that you cannot get support for otherwise. I can be a part of your community. I offer culturally specific supervision for those working with immigrants, Russian-speaking individuals, people coming from former Soviet states, and especially Central Asia.
